The tip
Depending on the type, most of the time its contents is of leather. It is produced and put together in such a way to render help providing more grip during the impact with the cue ball.
They come and go with different types. We come across differences in color, hardness, thickness and width. Originally they are made from the jaw of red deer, the leather of the rump of a bull or the adapted skin of pork. The leather is pressed to its form, or in other occasions consist of layers of leather that are glued upon one another; thus the name laminated tip.
