Actually, there aren’t that many rules imposed referring to its size and shape. It is stated very simplistic its minimum length should be 3 feet (91,4 cm) and there needs to be a front side and back side. Strangely enough there is no exact maximum length stated.

Nowadays, most standard cues are sized about 57-58 inches and provided with a tip of about 9 to 10 mm diameter. Gadgets helping you to aim, any sorts of lasers and so on are not permitted during play.

Depending on the quality of the cue prices may vary between 100 to 800 euro (80 up to 550 pounds). Usually higher prices are set for handmade cues and the materials used in the butt (the back end) of the cue or other things like personal touches, engravings or marks.
